Start a project with the lists already laid out, or save one of your own projects as a template and never set it up twice.
Every new project asks how you want it laid out:
| Template | Lists it creates | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Blank | None — add your own | Anything that doesn't fit a pattern |
| Software | Backlog · To do · In progress · Review · Done | The way many development teams run a Kanban board |
| Client work | Brief · In progress · With client · Delivered | A client project from brief to hand-over |
| Marketing | Ideas · Drafting · Scheduled · Published | Content, campaigns and launches |
Lists are just the starting point. Rename a list by clicking its name, add more, drag tasks between them; the board columns follow.
The better templates are the ones made from a project you have actually run. Open any project's Settings and choose Save as template: the lists, the tasks and subtasks with their estimates and dependencies, the custom fields and the milestones are kept, with dates stored as offsets from the start. Starting a project from it asks for a start date and lays everything out from there — so the timeline can forecast a finish before anyone has done a day's work.
Tasks can be templates too — a "New client onboarding" task with its twelve subtasks, saved once and added to any list in one go.
Templates belong to the organisation, so everyone can use them, and Admin → Organisation → Templates lists them with how often each has been used. See Projects and Tasks in the guide.
